Testers mark 2

Here are more of my beautiful testers. This is a white box that was prepared for a presentation. I imported the models to scale from maya so as not having to configure them in unreal once imported and then had em collisioned like the last bunch but then went ahead and imported a custom texture and slapped it onto them. Granted its a white texture but u try and find white in unreal.... it doesn't exist , just lighter brown which would make a white box non white. The texturing worked out fine and now im using the snaps to send round to leah for some environment painting, which is what i'll be tapping away at for the next while also.

I'll also get round to scanning in concept pages on here cause i haven put any up yet

Testers

Here is 2 pics of the models i imported into unreal and collisoned. Working out the scale proved to be harder then predicted but i managed it in the end with the playable character working out at something like 96 units not 88 which was what we where told. This was mostly a small test to see if any problems occured when importing them like if they have a hole in them how does that effect it. This was mostly used to lighten the worry of anything nasty popping up that might change our ideas down the line. better to know now then a couple of weeks of wasted pre-production.

Right im getting this blog back in action *sweeps dust off a section of the internet* .The feedback from my old project RunTimeError with Leah went really well and we're going to polish it up soon.
Im onto a new project now and ticking away at it. Its a demo of a family game which ties together puzzle solving and racing (bit mario style). There's been alot of progress and our feedback has been good so far off the publishers. Ive spent this week and weekend doing out the pre-enviroment and pub quiz skin . Unfortunetly im on a mac and because im technology illiterate I have no maya or torque so this project has been annoying me more so then other projects for the alone reason that its difficult for me to get tasks done unless im in university. That and for some reason a higher being has found it funny to throw bad and aweful news my way around every second week but u gotta keep trucking on.

At the moment im also playing resi 5 and its no resi but it crouches out a biggy ontop of all the other action games. So far resi 4 is better in my books but that game was out alone in the 'amazing ur awesome rain' while everyone else sits inside watching die hard movies with aliens in it. Resi 5 is an amazing action game but fails to stop me from playing it on my own alone in the dark for fear of nightmares. Theres also a massive lack of 'this could be it' feeling which u got from previous resi games like dying actually ment the game was going to kill u. It does tick alot of the right boxes and I'd advise anyone to purchase it , just remember that u bought resi 5 not resi 4 cause comparing them is pointless their 2 different generations and the times be changing.

Damn its been a while!

What can i say Christmas stole me away from technology and the internet for a while like a fat kid to pie but im thankful it did. I had previously been spending the majority of my time behind a glowing screen learning and constructing with Maya with 10-5 days flying by with a breeze *cough* ya right *cough*
Im back now and Leah (current project partner) and myself have started hitting After Effects hard. I toyed around with the program only a little before christmas but im starting to like it.

I havent even breathed on it let alone touched the iceberg that is AfterEffects but this is a test of a leaping and land guy thats in the project im working on (not finished or worked on fully).

p.s. beautiful katamari is a stunning game and if it were a woman id ....... *cough* sorry
