Quick Chop on PhotoShop

Put this together after playing my first rugby match this season on Saturday. I searched for a quote and gave myself a quick deadline to put something together to fit the quote in photoshop which could be used for advertising.

I will probably edit it a bit more later but for now I just wanted to knock something together for a set time under set instructions. The quote is from Alexis Carrel, a french surgeon during world war 2. The ©Sonder Media is my side business that I have started up while I am out of a job to just do some side graphic design work for some clients. Working on the website at the moment too.

1 Personal Fitness Work

Here is some Logo tidying I did for 1 Personal Fitness. I will also be working on info leaflets/brochures for his current clients and to also to gain future clients. My hope is to be allowed to give 1 Personal Fitness a graphical face lift and produce a great quality standard that he is happy with and will step up the look and professionalism of his business and increase his client base. Next move is the boot camp leaflets.

This is my Typography CV that I have been working on in After Effects, its not complete yet and doesn't have any music or a voice over but I thought I would put its progress up for now and update it later. I just need a few more spare hours to finish it off and tinker with it a bit more. My intention is to attach this video as a link on my CV so that recruiters or future employers have something interesting to watch and a more creative way for them to take in my information and remember it. Hopefully it does the Job and gets me a Job ;)

London Irish Trailer

This is the Trailer London Irish wanted me to shoot, edit, design and produce to propose to Sky Sports to get them to do a series on London Irishs next season/campaign. I wanted to give the viewer a sense of what may come next season while also giving a 'you will get a closer look at the actual players' feel. Unfortunately London Irishs season did not go as planned and they put the trailer on the back burner. I was originally brought in to make this trailer but was kept on and move towards helping the media and marketing department as time went on and the season progressed. I would still love to come back to this next season and have another swing at it as I feel I was under prepared at the start of the season when I began my work for london Irish.  I suppose it was a novice getting thrown into the deep end and been giving full range  I learned a great deal thanks to this experience and even though I would do it a great deal more differently now with my technical skills in camera work, filming, editing programs and even interaction and direction of people for shots has improved 1000% it was the best way to learn.

Interview with Marland Yarde.

My latest Video Interview for London Irish RFC. The rising star winger Marland Yarde talks about his up and coming game.

I have started to really enjoy doing interviews, if I could get more cameras I would as I am getting a bit tired of the single shot. I did experiement with double shots in a earlier video but that was when I had two cameras. One of them broke and I had to make due with the single camera. If I find it I'll upload it .

Lions Prediction I made before December

Just found this old Lions Tour prediction I quickly knocked up ages ago. I was off by quite a bit in some positions but seeing the actual selection in the news reminded me of it.

A day of training with Topsy Ojo.

This is a Day in the life of Topsy Ojo while training at the club. All filming, editing and starter/end banners was produced by myself. I really enjoyed doing this video because I got to edit my own work to coincide with Topsys interviews. This meant I had to be select with my shots and not to over power his interviews with break aways or just run a 3 min video of just Topsy standing there talking to the camera. I was given complete freedom on this and was allowed to organise Topsy for the different shots and guide him on what I wanted to be mentioned loosely. I say loosely because he is a fantastic person to interview and it is second nature for him to be infront of the camera. He was very easy to work with.

Promo video for London Irish v London Welsh Game

My Promotional Video for the London Irish v London Welsh Game including interviews with ex players and current captains.

The filming for these videos was shot by another member of staff as my car broke down that day and I wasnt able to make it  in. I managed to get out there the next day, recieve the video files and proceed to trim and edit them. I think the core skill I gained from editing this promo video was dealing with someone elses work. Usually I shoot and edit so I know what I have shot and I know where to stand and what to set up. In one of two of the shots I had to cut the frame width due to the interviewer being in the shot or in the reflextion. I had to mess about with the audio abit due to complication but all round it was a nice experience just editing something I hadn't shot, something new.

Head coach Brian Smith interview.

Head coach Brian Smith talks to LITV. Still experimenting with the opening shot where the name appears. For this one I have action footage of Brian Smith instead of the cut away already seated shot as in previous videos. Interviewer is Andrew Hogan.

The camera is supplied by London Irish and it is only shooting at a very low quality. I plan on investing in my own HD Canon 60D or 7D camera eventually to improve the quality of my videos but until then the video quality must suffer and take one for the team.

Landrover/Question Competition

A promotional video for a competition involving a question put to their followers on Facebook and Twitter. 'How mmany players can we fit into a Landrover'

In this video I wanted to make sure we got decent shots of the LandRover titles and to also get good audio of the experience inside the car. I miked up one of the first players that went into the jeep and slowly intro duced the audio from the mic. I also passed the camera around for one shots inside.

Paddys Party Jersey Promo StoryBoard

The promo video for the London Irish Paddys Party Jersey. I story boarded the idea and it got green lighted and shot by the crew at the stadium. My original idea had the rugby ball rolling down the steps into the tunnel  and the kid chasing after the rugby ball until it came to a stop on the new paddys party jersey. The kid would proceed to pull on the jersey and in mid torso shot the kid would turn into one of the more popular players. The player would then say a tag line like 'I'm going to be wearing the colours, will you?'. The idea was then changed to the kid walking through the tunnel up the steps and turning into the player while going up the steps.

Social Media End and Beginning Banner for Youtube

The new Social Media End and Beginning Banner for Youtube. We are supposed to have the Guinness advertising at the start and end of the videos on the LITV site but that isnt allowed on Youtube so I was asked to make a quick social media banner instead.

Topsy Ojo Interview

This interview was done with the proper title intro I wanted to give to each interview video but due to timing on filming/editing and media release I couldn't fit this into being regular standard for the interviews. I basically wanted one or two small level pitch side action shots of which ever player I was interviewing.

GreenSox Trailer

This is one of my first videos for London Irish. Its was suppose to reflect the School of Hard Knocks trailers from the American Football Program where it takes you behind the scences. This was a huge learning process for me and probably the most challenging and difficult. This was at the beginning of my internship back in August - December before I moved onto the more media and marketing videos. At the time we didnt have a music license and I had to be very select in the music which was very limiting. I managed to convince them of the benifit of getting a public music lisence so we could use normal songs on our videos. I was also still learning my way around London Irish and how they operate and work and also just getting to know the players/staff in general.

GreenSox

There is a bucket load of stuff I would do differently now and I know a million miles more stuff now then I did back then but you cant turn back time and we must learn from previous experiences not dwell on them. So hear it is.
